Semi-absentee and multi-unit franchise ownership workshop - Today
From a fellow member of Women in Film & Video, Washington DC:
Semi-absentee and multi-unit franchise ownership workshop - Wednesday, April 28th
With Heather Rosen, Consultant to people exploring business ownership.

On Wednesday, April 28th, Heather Rosen will be conducting a workshop on how to minimize your risk and your costs when starting a retail or food franchise in the current economy. Joining her will be a SBA lender to discuss financing options and a commercial real estate agent to discuss leasing space in a recession. As many people saw their 401K become 101K, people employed and unemployed alike are considering how to diversify their assets.
Retail and food franchises often appeal to people who want to continue in their job or continue running another business. Many of these types of businesses allow for “semi-absentee” ownership: the owner hires a manager and then spends just 10-20 hours per week on the business. Some retail and food franchises even offer the opportunity to run multiple units on a semi-absentee basis.
Below is a more detailed description of the program.

This is a great topic for a workshop. I wish I could have gone. Do you have workshops like this often, and in different locations?

I agree, I wish I could have gone as well. There is another small company that is struggling that I think would be profitable for me to buy. the information would have been helpful.
